From The Locker Room: Sabres-Senators

Nick Baptiste's 2nd goal of the season came early in the game, but the Sabres couldn't manage any more offense in a 2-1 loss to the Senators. Cole Schneider picked up his first NHL point on Baptiste's goal. Read what both players had to say.

Nick Baptiste
"[Schneider and I] read off each other pretty well and have that chemistry that we've built for the last little while. He saw me coming in pretty hot there and put it on my tape. It was a great play."

"We've played them twice in the last week. Obviously you get to know each other pretty easily. It was a tight checking game. Unfortunately we couldn't get both points, but obviously getting one is a positive."

Cole Schneider
"I got a lot more preseason games this year too, so that helped. [Coach Lambert] told me this morning. He just told me to play my game -- I thought I was ready.

Dan Bylsma
"We knew we were going to move [Reinhart] to center, and Cole...he's the hottest ticket down there for [the Amerks]. He's also played for the Senators, or in their organization before. I thought it was a chance for him to give one back to them."
