Amerks sign a former R.I.T. standout

(WGR 550) - After four seasons at R.I.T., Myles Powell is staying in Rochester. The undersized forward has inked a one-year AHL contract with the Amerks.

After Powell finished his season at R.I.T., he signed an professional tryout contract with Rochester, going pointless in four games.

Powell was one of the captains at R.I.T., and scored 13 goals and 39 points in 37 games during his senior season. That put Powell fifth in Atlantic Hockey scoring.

In 149 games over four seasons with the Tigers, Powell netted 45 goals and 60 assists for 105 points.
