The Buffalo Bandits acquired two-time National Lacrosse League MVP, Shawn Evans, from the New England Black Wolves on Wednesday in exchange for Callum Crawford and second round pick in the 2019 NLL Draft. Buffalo also received a fourth round pick in 2019.

The 31-year-old Evans ranks eighth all-time in NLL scoring with 1,061 career points (386 goals, 675 assists). He was named league MVP in 2013 and 2015 while playing with the Calgary Roughnecks. Evans currently ranks seventh in the NLL in scoring this season with 51 points in nine games with New England. He was originally drafted by Rochester, where he played six seasons and won a Champions Cup in 2007.

Crawford was acquired this past offseason in a trade with Colorado that sent Ryan Benesch to the Mammoth. He recorded 40 points (18G, 22A) in his nine games with Buffalo.

The Bandits give up the size that Crawford brought to the floor at 6' 3", but gain one of the NLL's all-time best scorers in Evans. He can also be a thorn in the side of opponents with his ability to get physical.

Buffalo is coming off an embarassing 17-10 loss to Rochester last Saturday. They play in Colorado this Saturday at 9 p.m.
