Bills fall one play short, lose in Miami 21-17

Josh Allen has a good day in the win, going 18-of-33 for 231 yards and two touchdowns in the air

December 02, 2018 - 1:48 pm

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills wound up falling just short against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, 21-17, seeing their record drop to 4-8 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Bills had a chance to win the game, moving down the field to get into striking distance of a go-ahead touchdown. On 4th and 11 at Miami's 30 yard line, Allen had to escape pressure from the Dolphins defensive line and wound up chucking a desperation heave from ten yards deep in his backfield. The ball made it in the vicinity of tight end Charles Clay. Clay could not get back to the ball in time and the pass went off the diving Clay's outstretched hands to end the game and seal the win for Miami.

Allen was impressive in the second half of this game and finished the day 18-of-33 for 231 yards in the air, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Allen also led the Bills in rushing for the second straight week with 135 yards on nine carries.

LeSean McCoy had 15 carries for 52 yards on the ground, while Zay Jones had an impressive day leading the Bills receivers with four catches for 67 yards and two touchdowns.

Miami's offense didn't get many yards throughout the afternoon, but hit the Bills where it mattered most with three touchdown passes from Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill was 16-of-24 for 137 yards on the day, three touchdowns and one interception.

Buffalo limited the Dolphins to only 60 yards rushing, with Kenyan Drake leading the way with 31 yards. DeVante Parker led Miami wideouts with four catches for 43 yards and one touchdown.

The Bills will next play the New York Jets next Sunday afternoon at New Era Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on WGR Sports Radio 550 with John Murphy, Mark Kelso and Sal Capaccio on the call.
