The Buffalo Bills' roster is now officially at the maximum 53 players after the team claimed a pair of players off waivers on Sunday.

Punter Corey Bojorquez and cornerback Ryan Lewis had both been with the New England Patriots, but were released on Saturday. To make room for the new acquisitions, punter Colton Schmidt was released. The roster was previously at 52 players, so that was the only move required to get the roster to 53.

Schmidt had been with the Bills since 2014, playing in 64 games while recording 322 punts, fifth most in team history. He ranks second in franchise history with a net average of 44.1 yards per-punt.

The team also announced on Sunday that they have added eight players to their 10-man practice squad. All eight of them had been released by the club as part of their final cutdowns on Saturday.

That leaves two practice squad spots still to be filled.
