Just one day after punter Jon Ryan asked for his release from the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, he has landed on his feet with the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills signed the 13-year veteran punter on Tuesday to compete with Colton Schmidt for a spot on the 53-man roster this upcoming season.

Ryan, 36, had spent the last 10 seasons with the Seahawks before his release. The Regina, Saskatchewan native is set to join the Bills and be re-united with former teammate in Seattle, Stephen Hauschka. The two had spent six seasons together with the special teams unit from 2011 to 2016.

Over the course of his career, Ryan has 914 punts for nearly 41,000 yards. Ryan started his career with the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2007.

Ryan comes in to replace Cory Carter on the 90-man roster after he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on Friday against the Cleveland Browns.

To make room for Ryan, the Bills have released kicker Tyler Davis.
