The Buffalo Bandits' title bid fell just short last night, falling 14-13 in overtime at the hands of the Calgary Roughnecks in Game 2 of the NLL Cup Finals. Last night's loss, combined with the Bandits' 10-7 loss at home last week, gave the Roughnecks the win in the best-of-three series.

Buffalo saw themselves trailing 9-6 at halftime after Calgary tallied a goal with less than one-second remaining in the second quarter. The halftime break would see the Bandits roar back and score four out of the next five goals to tie the game at 10-10. Calgary would take a 12-10 lead before Jordan Dhurston scored his second and third goals of the game to knot the teams back up at 12-12. Calgary took the lead with less than one minute to go before Corey Small would tie the game at 13 just before regulation ended.

Despite the Bandits getting the first possesion of overtime, it was Rhys Duch who scored the championship-winning goal for the Roughnecks in overtime. Dhurston led the way for the Bandits, tallying his first three goals of the postseaon, while Shawn Evans led the Bandits in assists with five. Matt Vinc made 37 saves on 51 shots in the loss.

This title is Calgary's first since 2009, and it would have been the Bandits' first since 2008.
