One week after the first College Football Playoff rankings were released, we may see the biggest shifts in the college football landscape this week with four games with top-25 teams going head-to-head. Plenty of other top-25 teams have tough matchups as well, which could bode well for the UB Bulls to try and crack the top-25 by the end of the year:

  • (6) Georgia at (9) Kentucky  - 3:30 p.m.

A nice matchup for upstart Kentucky, who is 7-1 and can make the SEC title game for the first time since it was introduced in 1992. Standing in the Wildcats' way of making history is Georgia, the runner up in last year's National Championship game. Georgia is still the more talented team, but if Kentucky can knock out a team from last year's playoff group, it would make things crazier for this year's selection process.

  • (13) West Virginia at (17) Texas - 3:30 p.m.

While neither team looks to be a legitimate threat to make the playoff, both teams could affect Oklahoma. The winner of this game will be the final trial for Oklahoma in the Big 12, and West Virginia could make a case by running the table themselves as a one-loss team.

  • (14) Penn State at (5) Michigan - 3:45 p.m.

Thanks to Ohio State losing to Purdue, Michigan can slam the door on the Buckeys in the final game of the year. However, Penn State still stands in the way, and a Nittany Lions win could create a three-team jumble at the top of the Big 10's East Division.

  • (1) Alabama at (3) LSU - 8 p.m.

The whammy of the college football weekend. Alabama looks like an indestructible force on another level in college football and open as a 14.5-point favorite on the road to the third-ranked team in the country. However, outside of 20th-ranked Texas A&M, have the Crimson Tide really played anyone yet? LSU, with a promising team in their own right, could dictate the SEC West race with an upset win at home in Baton Rouge.

As for UB, there is a chance to make a run at a top-25 ranking this year. If you're all in on the Bulls, cheer on some of these teams taking on fringe teams at the bottom of the top 25:

  • (19) Syracuse vs. Wake Forest
  • (21) NC State vs. Florida State
  • (22) Boston College vs. Virginia Tech
