Former NFL cornerback and senior writer Domonique Foxworth sat down with former Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis, Wednesday morning in an interview with ESPN's "The Undefeated."

Davis has become the butt-end of puns all over social media since his abrupt decision to retire mid-game in Buffalo's 31-20 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

For the first time since his historical decision, Davis opened up to Foxworth about what was going on in his mind in the moments that led up to him walking away from the sport he played professionally for the better part of a decade.

Davis also discussed with Foxworth about the day as a whole; how he felt driving to New Era Field, his thoughts right before the start of the game and much more.

The interview can be read here.

Foxworth also composed a piece on Wednesday on Davis standing by his decision, and how he chose to go about it.
