Garrett goes first, Bears move up to take Trubisky

Cleveland selects DE Garrett, Bears give up 3 picks to move one spot

The NFL Draft is always full of drama, and this one seems to be no different. It didn't start that way, as the Cleveland Browns selected defensive end Myles Garrett, the long-presumed top pick.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears decided to take no chances, swapping picks with the San Francisco 49ers to move up one spot and select quarterback Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina.

The Bears gave up a third round pick (#67) and a fourth round pick (#111) in the 2017 Draft, as well as a third round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Bears had signed Mike Glennon in free agency, and now Trubisky will have a bridge quarterback to sit behind in Chicago.

San Francisco slid down to third overall while gathering the extra picks and selected Stanford defensive end, Solomon Thomas.
