The Buffalo Bills were in the running to sign veteran free agent tight end Greg Olsen, but Olsen will be heading west and signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks for, what could be, his final season in the NFL.

The Bills and Washington Redskins had familiarity with Olsen, but it proved to not be enough to lure him in. Olsen spent time in Carolina with Bills head coach Sean McDermott, general manager Brandon Beane, as well as new Washington head coach Ron Rivera.

The Seahawks were the most attractive team of the three if Olsen was looking for a team that could win a Super Bowl.

This would've been a luxury signing for the Bills. They're not starved at tight end, and are left with Dawson Knox, Tommy Sweeney, Tyler Kroft and Lee Smith all under contract. Jason Croom will be an Exclusive Rights Free Agent this offseason.
