The Buffalo Sabres lost a back-and-forth affair to the Vancouver Canucks on Friday night by a 4-3 score at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Evan Rodrigues got the scoring start for Buffalo with his third goal in three games. Kyle Okposo also tallied a goal on the night; so too did Sam Reinhart in the losing effort. The Sabres end their trip to Western Canada with a record of 1-2, and head into the All-Star Break riding a tough 7-12-4 stretch since their 10-game winning streak.

Let's go inside the locker room to hear from Okposo, Reinhart, Rodrigues and Phil Housley following the loss.

Kyle Okposo:

On the effort: "That's kind of the way it's gone the last week-and-a-half. It's about limiting mistakes. I thought we played well tonight, but those mistakes cost us."

On his line's play: "[Johan] Larsson and [Zemgus] Girgensons played great tonight. I thought we kept it simple and grinded. It was nice to get rewarded on the scoring end of it."

On the upcoming break: "This break is something you have to use positively. When we come back, we're going to have to push. We're outside of a playoff spot right now. Our identity is forged and now we have to get results."

Sam Reinhart:

On mistakes ending up in the net: "That sums it up pretty well. Those mistakes are just a little bit too big... We can correct them, though. We're going to. With this break we've got time to re-focus and re-energize."

On Conor Sheary's play that led to Reinhart's goal: "He made a good play in a crowd to get it over to me pretty quick. It's always fun to come and play here; better with a win, but still."

Evan Rodrigues:

Vancouver made the most of opportunities: "I think they capitalized at the right times. Their goalie made some huge saves for them too. This is a tough one going into a break, I thought we played well tonight."

The importance of the second half of the year: "I think it's a good time for us to re-group and get healthy and rested. This back half is going to be huge for us given the position we're in [in the standings]. We have to be ready to go."

Phil Housley:

On the effort he saw: "Love the way we started the game. We were making plays and executed well. Then we gave up those two goals and it was about sorting things out in our own end. It comes down to responsibilities without the puck. I can't complain though. Their goalie played a heck of a game. Made a lot of saves."

What needs fixing after the break: "We have to work on our checking detail, and making sure we're quicker to close in our own end."

Can't complain: "We kept pushing through the whole game. We made a couple mistakes and a couple of misreads, but we still had zone time. We just couldn't find a way to get it past their goaltender."
