The Buffalo Sabres took another bad loss on Sunday night, this time a 4-1 loss at the hands of the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Buffalo was unable to get any offense going, outside of a Sam Reinhart second period goal. The final blows came as Buffalo surrendered two late goals in the third period to cement the 4-1 scoreline. In addition to the 5-on-5 offense, the power play struggled, with the Sabres going 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Sabres goalie Carter Hutton was able to stop 20-of-23 shots that were directed his way. Devils goalie Cory Schneider, who was 1-17-4 in his last 22 decisions, was able to get 34 saves on 35 shots faced.

The Sabres will be back in action on Tuesday against the Florida Panthers, in the opening leg of the Florida swing.

Let's go inside the locker room to hear what Sam Reinhart, Zach Bogosian and Phil Housley had to say after the poor result:

Sam Reinhart:

On if the team was playing with urgency: "It was just a couple of mistakes that wind up in the back of our net. For the most part the urgency was there."

About the Sabres' playoff chances: "We certainly feel right in the mix. We have another opportunity in a couple of days."

Zach Bogosian:

About the overall effort: "We had our chances. I thought we played hard. I thought it was a pretty back and forth game."

On some of the defensive breakdowns: "Breakdowns are going to happen... we have to be there for each other... it's part of the game."

Phil Housley:

On why the offense struggled: "We could've gotten to the net a little bit more... I thought we played a pretty hard game."

On if the team is still in the playoff race: "I just felt that we did a lot of good things with the puck again... I feel that we're right there."
