The Buffalo Sabres shut down the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night with a 3-0 win at KeyBank Center.

Linus Ullmark led the way with 40 saves, while Rasmus Dahlin, Jeff Skinner and Conor Sheary all tallied goals in the winning effort. Dahlin's goal marks his first at home as a member of the Sabres.

The Sabres will now have four days off before playing in St. Louis against the Blues on December 27. This will be the first meeting between the Sabres and Blues since the trade this past summer that sent Ryan O'Reilly to St. Louis in exchange for a package of players and picks.

Let's go inside the locker room and see what Skinner, Sheary, Ullmark and head coach Phil Housley had to say after win:

Jeff Skinner:

On John Gibson and the Ducks: He made some big saves for them... they kind of hung around and got a few chances there early in the third but the [penalty kill] stepped up."

On the chippy play between the teams: It's an emotional game... some games that's just the way it goes. It was a little bit of a feisty game at the end of the periods, but we did a good job sticking together.

Conor Sheary:

On going into the break with a win: "I think it's always good to go into the break on a win. You don't want to go in with a bad taste in your mouth and wait a long time to play again."

On starting out strong: "I thought our first and second were really strong. In the third we got into the box a few times, but Linus played great for us."

Linus Ullmark:

On playing games and checking the standings: "Every game is as important as the next one, which makes it even more fun."

On how the penalty kill excelled: "We had a pretty good read on them... we had some huge blocks there by [Evan] Rodrigues and [Jake] McCabe."

Phil Housley:

On the overall effort: "I really liked our start. The shot mentality. We played with desperation and generated energy. We found a way."

On winning heading into the break: "I'm just really happy we won going into the break... especially with the moms and other family members being here."
