No need for a comeback on Wednesday night at KeyBank Center.

The Buffalo Sabres got off to a fast start with a four-goal opening period that propelled them to a seventh straight victory - a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers in front of a raucous crowd on the night before Thanksgiving. The win pushed Buffalo to 7-2-1 at home on the season and a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference with a 14-6-2 record on the season.

Let's go inside the locker room to see what Tage Thompson, Johan Larsson, Jake McCabe and Phil Housley had to say after the Sabres' seventh straight win:

Tage Thompson:

On the crowd's atmosphere:  "That was a really cool feeling, even after that first shift where Skins almost pulled one home, the crowd was into it right away and that's always fun to be a part of. I think that jump started us, got us going."

On his goal to make it 2-0 in the first period: "It feels good anytime you score... That's something I'm working on is using my body. [Sobotka] made a great little pass there and I thought I had a step on the [defense] and try to cut to the net, fortunate it went in."

Johan Larsson:

On his first goal of the season: "It felt good, for sure. Having chances, and now seeing one go in, hopefully it can just keep rolling for me."

On getting off to a strong start to the game: "It was a great start, that was our focus coming into the game. We've been really sloppy in the first period. We wanted to come back here, at home, and have a good first period."

Jake McCabe:

On the atmosphere at Key Bank Center: "I figured with a 7:30 game and the Wednesday before Thanksgiving... they were going to be a little rowdy. We built off that early and we were pumped up to get out there and we just rallied around their energy and it was a blast."

Phil Housley:

On getting off to a strong start: "We really focused and were on our toes, and we really attacked the game in the first period. We shot pucks off the rush, we got pucks to the net and power play scored a big goal. But it was the start we were looking for, especially coming back home to a big crowd and the fans were awesome tonight."

On the atmosphere at Key Bank Center: "Obviously, we got a great start, which helps them get involved but it's great to see our fans come out and support us. We're still trying to earn their respect in that matter, but it was great that we able to give them something to cheer about tonight."
