Jeff Skinner snapped a 13-game scoring drought on Saturday, while also breaking the team's lengthy scoreless streak. However, the Carolina Hurricanes prevailed over the Buffalo Sabres, 4-2 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, giving Buffalo its seventh straight loss. Skinner's goal was his 37th of the season, tying a career high. Linus Ullmark stopped 25 of 29 shots faced in the loss.

Let's head inside the locker room to see what Skinner, Jack Eichel and Phil Housley had to say following the loss:

Jeff Skinner:

On breaking his own goal scoring drought: "When you're sort of fighting it and sort of having trouble putting one in, I think sometimes you get a bouncer or a lucky one. Fortunately we got one there. I think we had some pretty good looks after that. Again, just couldn't seem to get that second one."

On overall lack of scoring: "Even after that one, I think we had some pretty good looks. Their goalie made some big saves, made some good saves. We just have to keep working. Keep working to get there, keep working to get chances and they'll start going in for us."

Jack Eichel:

On Curtis McElhinney: "I thought we put a lot on them. McElhinney...give him credit. He played well and made some big saves."

On Linus Ullmark: "He's going to be hard on himself. He's a competitor. You know? How many times this year has Linus stepped up and been the best player on the ice for us?"

On the team breaking the goal drought: "It's good we got one early. We hadn't scored in a few games. Just would have liked to build off that a little more. Maybe get the next one and then keep going, but we didn't really do that until late."

Phil Housley:

On breaking the drought almost immediately: "It was important for our team just to get that off our back. I really like the way we started the game. We came out, established our forecheck, a lot of good looks. It was a very, very solid first period where we could have maybe cashed in a little bit more of our opportunities in that period. second period, we have a breakaway, we're hitting posts, that's just where we're at right now. We're not finding a way, but I like that we went to the net harder, we drove to the net. We created a lot more this game."

On Ullmark: "It's tough, but we gotta score more than one goal. He's been a bright spot for us throughout the whole season. Would he want to get some of those goals back? I'm sure he would. But that's just where we're at as a group. We need to find a way to score more goals."
