It was a grind, but the Buffalo Sabres finally broke back into the win column. Jeff Skinner's game-winning goal in overtime helped the blue and gold take care of the Los Angeles Kings by a final score of 4-3. Buffalo bucked their five-game skid and emerged victorious for the first time since their lengthy 10-game win streak.

Let's go inside the locker room to hear from fellow goal scorers Johan Larsson, Zemgus Girgensons and Jack Eichel, as well as head coach Phil Housley following the victory:

Johan Larsson:

On the second intermission locker room talk: "We talked about getting back to basics and returning to the team we wanted to be, and we did."

On his game-tying goal: "Just tried to beat my guy. Lawrence did good setting it up, and it was real good patience on his part too."

Zemgus Girgensons:

On the play of the fourth line: "We've done a good job with the forechecking and all, so it's nice to get rewarded."

On rebounding in the third: "We brought one of the best efforts we've had in recent games in that third period. We knew we're in a slump, but we worked hard in that period."

Jack Eichel:

Adjustments from periods one and two, to three: "I think we came in here and re-grouped a bit. We were making the game too easy for them. In the third we committed to bringing the game to their end. I thought we wore them down, especially since they were short on the back end."

Taking the game to the Kings: "It's good to be physical, but the more things you force them to take a puck out from deep, that takes a toll. That definitely wore them down. I don't think we did a good job of that in the first two periods, but we surely did in the third."

Phil Housley:

On the team's adjustments: "We addressed some things. Really didn't like our second period. We didn't work back for breakouts or neutral zone transitions. These guys dug in and found a way thanks to how we decided to work in that third period."

Working through the problems: "Sometimes when you're facing adversity, things don't come easy. But these guys put their best feet forward in that third period. We'll learn from this and plan accordingly moving forward."
