The Buffalo Sabres didn't come close to bringing their "A"-game on Tuesday night, but were still able to come away with a 2-1 victory over the Atlantic Division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning at KeyBank Center.

Jeff Skinner stayed red-hot with his 13th goal of the year, and Kyle Okposo potted the eventual game-winner back in the second period. Carter Hutton stood tall in the net as he bailed the blue and gold out of countless high-danger chances that the Lightning threw their way.

Let's go inside the locker room to hear from Okposo, Skinner, Hutton and Phil Housley after the important divisional win:

Kyle Okposo

On his goal: "Their defense is really aggressive. When you set up for a shot, they set up on that side. That goal doesn't happen either without help from Conor Sheary in front of the net."

Battling: "That's a good hockey team over there. We weren't as sharp and we have to clean up some stuff. We only really played well for a period and a half, but we got two points out of this."

Jeff Skinner:

On the effort: "They had a big push there in the second. We responded a bit in the third period, and Hutton was big for us all night no matter the situation."

Goalie came to play: "This league is so tough to win in, and the margin is so small. This is one of those nights where you have to grind it out. We may not have deserved to win, but he gutted this one out for us."

Carter Hutton:

Passing grade: "It was a big test for us tonight. They're a really good hockey team. At points, we let them be that really good hockey team. For the most part, we did a really good job and battled."

On the final seconds: "It was mayhem. Those guys can shoot it. I just had to battle. I try to compete on everything; gotta battle until that final buzzer sounds. We bent, but didn't break."

Phil Housley:

Outplayed but still winning: "It's a credit to our guys. We've said this now for three games; we haven't played our best but we've found ways to win."

On Hutton: "He's been locked in all year. There's a couple goals he'd like to have back along the way, but he's been huge for us this year."
