New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski's appeal of his one-game suspension for a late hit on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White has been denied, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.

Appeals officer Derrick Brooks heard the appeal and made the ultimate decision.

White is in the NFL's concussion protocol as a result of the hit, while Gronkowski will miss the Patriots’ next game, Monday night against the Miami Dolphins.
