Report: Browns trying to trade for Cousins

Browns lost out on Trubisky, may look for a new quarterback in Kirk Cousins

April 27, 2017 - 8:58 pm

According to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Cleveland Browns are looking into trading for Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins.

The Browns, who selected defensive end Myles Garrett with the first overall pick, lost out on quarterback Mitchell Trubisky after the Chicago Bears traded up to the second overall pick to acquire him.

Cousins has voiced some displeasure about how he has been treated in Washington from the Redskins' reluctance to sign him long-term. Cousins threw for 4,917 yards, 25 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season.

Cleveland also had the 12th overall pick, but they traded down with the Houston Texans to acquire the 25th overall pick, an additional third round pick in 2017, and a first round pick in 2018. The Brown also have the first pick in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2017 Draft.

The Texans selected quarterback Deshaun Watson from Clemson with the 12th overall pick.
