Lehner would become an unrestricted free agent on July 1

It appears as though the Robin Lehner era in Buffalo is about to come to an end.

TSN's Bob McKenzie reports that the Buffalo Sabres are going to let the 26-year-old goaltender head to free agency and not qualify an offer to hold on to his rights.

Lehner has been the Sabres' primary goaltender for the past three seasons, putting up a 42-61-22 record, a 2.77 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in 133 starts.

Lehner was acquired by the Sabres from the Ottawa Senators at the 2015 NHL Draft, along with David Legwand, for the 21st overall pick in 2015 (center Colin White).
