Buffalo will host the first of two matchups with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and will count towards one of Buffalo's home games in the preseason. That leaves Buffalo with two games to be played at KeyBank Center on Saturday, September 21 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Wednesday, September 25 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Following the trip to Penn State University, The Sabres will travel to Columbus to play the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena the next night. Buffalo will then hit the road on Friday, September 20 for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The Sabres will close out the preseason in Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 28 against the Penguins at PPG Paints Arena. Shortly after the preseason finale, head coach Ralph Krueger will have to trim the opening night roster down to 23 players before the NHL regular season opens on Wednesday, October 2.

The regular season schedule is set to be released next Tuesday, June 25.
