(WGR 550) - Tonight will mark the Sabres' sixth game of the season and they’ll already be done with Vegas. Buffalo defeated the Golden Knights 4-2 on Oct. 8 and they’re in Vegas tonight.

Vegas will be missing some key players as defensemen Deryk Engelland is hurt and Nate Schmidt is serving a 20-game PED suspension.

Paul Stastny got hurt in Buffalo when he got tangled up with Jack Eichel and is out two months. Alex Tuch has been out the whole season.

Buffalo is getting Zach Bogosian back. Numerous reporters in Las Vegas said Bogosian practiced with Nate Beaulieu on Monday and today with Casey Nelson going with Matt Tennyson. Bogosian got hurt during the preseason game in Clinton, New York. To make room for Bogosian, Tennyson has been sent to Rochester. John Vogl of The Athletic reports that Nelson, Remi Elie and Johan Larsson are the scratches.

Multiple reporters say Carter Hutton is back in goal. Hutton is 2-2-0 with a 3.06 goals against and .912 save percentage.

The Sabres are coming off a 3-0 win in Arizona. The club has won three out of four games after losing the opener to Boston.

Rasmus Dahlin has points in two straight games including his first NHL goal.

Jack Eichel has five points in five games while Conor Sheary has four points in four.

The Sabres power play is working at a 22.2-percent clip which is 16th in the league. The penalty kill is 18th at 76.9-percent.

Shots have been a problem for this team. They’re giving up an average of 34.6 shots per-game, which is fifth worst. Buffalo only gets 26.4 shots at the other goalie, which is 27th in the league.

At 2.60, Buffalo’s goaltending is ninth in the NHL.

Marc-Andre Fleury has struggled for the Golden Knights. In five games, his save percentage is only .880. Those numbers would be a lot worse had he not shut out the Flyers in Philadelphia 1-0. Vegas had lost three of four before that.

Tonight is only the Golden Knights' second game at home. The Flyers beat them on opening night 5-2.

William Karlsson had a breakout season last year scoring 43 goals, but he so far he is 0-for-the season. Karlsson does have four assists.

Jonathan Marchessault has two goals and four assists for six points in six games.

Join me and Brian Koziol with the pre-game starting at 9:00.
