(WGR 550) - The Sabres had stayed pretty healthy up front, but the injury bug has now hit. Vladimir Sobotka, Marcus Johansson and Johan Larsson were already injured, and Kyle Okposo got hurt Saturday in the win over Ottawa.

Evan Rodrigues, Curtis Lazar and Rasmus Asplund had already been inserted in the lineup and on Sunday, Tage Thompson was called up from Rochester for the game in Chicago.

Thompson has six goals and six assists for 12 points in his 16 games with the Amerks. Thompson is tied for the team lead in scoring.

Last season in Buffalo, Thompson struggled, scoring seven goals and 12 points in 65 games.

Buffalo broke its six-game losing streak against the Senators. The Sabres have picked up three out of four points, which has them going from 14th to 11th in NHL points percentage. The Blackhawks are 19th in the league.

In 18 games with Chicago, former Sabres forward Alex Nylander has four goals and five assists for nine points. Another former Sabre, goalie Robin Lehner is 5-3-2 with a 2.46 goals-against average and .936 save percentage.

With Linus Ullmark playing Saturday, chances are good that Carter Hutton gets the call on Sunday. Hutton is 6-3-2 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.

With his four goals on Saturday, Jack Eichel is eighth overall in the NHL with 12 goals. Yes, Eichel is tied with his good friend Evander Kane of the Sharks.
