Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - The Sabres are looking to get better in their bottom six, so they’ve claimed forward Remi Elie from Dallas. The 23-year-old was a second round pick of the Stars in the 2013 Entry Draft. In 90 NHL games, Elie has seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points.

Last season in 72 games for Dallas, Elie netted six goals and eight assists for 14 points.

Elie was a teammate of Connor McDavid’s in Erie when he had 42 points in 28 games. That season he had 76 points in 63 games.

The Sabres must have their roster of 23 players and be under the NHL Salary Cap by 5:00 Tuesday.

The team had Tuesday off from practice.
