Another week of "Sabres Classics" will be broadcasted this week on MSG Network with five more classic games in Buffalo Sabres franchise history.

The Sabres will telecast their matchup from Feb. 13, 2009 on Monday night when the team took on the San Jose Sharks at, then, HSBC Arena. This game took place the night after Flight 3407 crashed in Clarence Center, New York, killing 49 people on board the plane and one person on the ground.

This game saw Buffalo jump out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first period, and eventually make the score 4-1 near the halfway point of the second period. However, Buffalo's lead fizzled away, and the Sharks ended up taking the lead 5-4 with 9:46 to go in the third period. Then with 3.9 seconds remaining in regulation, a point shot from captain Craig Rivet was re-directed by forward Jason Pominville into the net to tie the game at 5-5 and send the contest to overtime.

After no body was able to win the game in overtime, an extended shootout took place, where forward Derek Roy was able to give Buffalo the advantage in the fifth round. It was goalie Ryan Miller who sealed the emotional win for the Sabres as he was able to turn away Milan Michalek's opportunity in the bottom of the round.

Tuesday night will feature the Sabres' matchup with the Atlanta Thrashers from Feb. 23, 2011, which happened to be the first game played after the Pegulas purchased the franchise. This game saw a first period goal from defenseman Tyler Myers, followed by a late pair of goals from forwards Paul Gaustad and Pominville to give Buffalo a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. Forward Tyler Ennis added another goal early in the third period, while Miller played extremely well in net with 40 saves on 41 shots faced.

The next "Sabres Classics" game will air on Wednesday night and feature a Sabres' 3-2 win over the Hartford Whalers on Feb. 3, 1993 at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. In this game, forward Alexander Mogilny scored his 50th goal of the season to give Buffalo the lead with just 28 seconds remaining in regulation. In the 1992-93 season, Mogilny would set a franchise record with 76 goals, and went on to finish the year with 127 points in 77 games.

Then on Thursday and Friday, MSG will air a pair of games with the Sabres beating a pair of teams from the Soviet Union.

Thursday will feature the Sabres taking on the Soviet Wings that took place on Jan. 4, 1976. In that game, the Sabres were able to trounce the Wings with a 12-6 victory at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. The Sabres peppered the Soviets with 46 shots on goal, and ended up getting a pair of goals from both Rick Martin and Danny Gare, while others like Gilbert Perreault, Jim Lorentz, and Jerry Korab were among the scorers in the win.

Finally on Friday, MSG will broadcast the Sabres' 6-1 win over the Moscow Central Red Army on Jan. 3, 1980 at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. Buffalo got a pair of first period goals from Danny Gare and Don Luce, which was all that the Sabres needed to take down the Soviets once again. The Red Army cut their deficit to 2-1 in the third period, but then Buffalo exploded with four unanswered goals to put the game away.

All five of these games will start at 8 p.m. on MSG.
