Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - Sam Reinhart had told me on locker clean out day that he was going to play for Team Canada at the IIHF World Championship, but Canada has named another Sabre to the team.

Brandon Montour will also be on the defense. Jason Botterill is one of three men running Team Canada.

Other notable names on the Canadian team are John Tavares, Mark Stone and Jonathan Marchessault.

In goal are Matt Murray, Carter Hart and Mackenzie Blackwood.

If you’re wondering why Jeff Skinner isn’t there, very few players on expiring contract play in this tournament.

Canada open the tournament on May 10 against Finland.

Jack Eichel is on Team USA. The United States also plays on May 10 against the host nation, Slovakia.
