Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - The Sabres have another drafted goaltender in the fold. Buffalo has inked Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen to a three-year entry-level deal.

Luukkonen was taken in the second round of last year’s draft. Buffalo had two picks in that round and Luukkonen went 54th overall.

The goaltender played professionally in Finland last year with a second division team. In 24 games with Leki, he was 11-11-2 with a .909 save percentage and a 2.92 goals against average.

Luukkonen also represented Finland at the World Junior Championships in Buffalo. In the five games he played, he had a 3.13 goals against and .879 save percentage.

Luukkonen joins Linus Ullmark and Jonas Johansson as the other drafted Sabres goalies under contract. Ullmark was a sixth-round pick in 2012, while Johansson went in the third round of the 2014 Entry Draft.
