(WGR 550) - Tage Thompson scored a highlight reel goal in Toronto and almost had two others. He was also on the ice for four of the Leafs' five goals and had problems, at times, winning battles. The whole thing boils down to that Phil Housley wants to see more as he’s the only player that will participate in both weekend preseason games.

Thompson is getting a golden opportunity to play right wing with Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner on Saturday. Thompson has played in two of Buffalo’s three preseason games and has a goal and two assists for three points. The opposition has scored six goals in those two games and Thompson has been on the ice for four of them.

Zach Bogosian is ready to play in his first preseason game. The six defensemen in this game could very well be the six that are in the opening night lineup.

Carter Hutton will be in goal after stopping all 14 shots he faced against Pittsburgh. Hutton played 40 minutes in that game, but since Linus Ullmark played the whole game in Toronto, Hutton may go the distance.

Toronto will have Auston Matthews in its lineup. He'll be on a line with Patrick Marleau. Former Sabre Tyler Ennis will reportedly be on that line. Ennis signed in Toronto after being bought out in Minnesota.

Join Brian Koziol at 7:00 before Dan Dunleavy and Rob Ray call all the action from the arena.

Saturday’s lines:

53 Skinner - 9 Eichel - 72 Thompson

26 Dahlin - 19 McCabe
