The University at Buffalo men's basketball team (31-3, 16-2 MAC) is officially a six-seed in the West Region of the upcoming NCAA Tournament. They are scheduled to play on Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma against the winner of Arizona State and St. John's.

The Bulls set a Mid-American Conference record as being named the highest-seeded team out of the conference as a six-seed. The previous record for a team out of the MAC was as a nine-seed, shared by Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Kent State.

Arizona State and St. John's will play as part of the First Four in the tournament, and hold on to the 11-seed in the West. Should Arizona State beat St. John's on Wednesday, the Bulls would be in for a meeting with former head coach Bobby Hurley.

Here is how the rest of UB's bracket turned out:

Syracuse also earned themselves a bid in the West Region of the tournament, opening as the eighth-seed against ninth-seeded Baylor in Salt Lake City, Utah.
