The University at Buffalo’s women’s basketball team (23-9, 12-6 MAC) learned on Monday where they’ll be playing in the upcoming NCAA Women’s Tournament.

The Bulls will be traveling to Storrs, Connecticut as a 10-seed in the Albany Region of the women's tournament, and will face seven-seed Rutgers on Friday in the Round of 64.

Rutgers finished the 2018-19 season with a 22-9 overall record and finished third in the Big Ten Conference with a 13-5 record. The Scarlett Knights received an at-large bid into the tournament after losing in the Big Ten Conference tournament semifinal to Iowa, who went on to beat Maryland in the conference championship game.

Due to an unforeseen leak by ESPN, the MAC Champion Bulls learned their fate when the network accidentally leaked the bracket early on television.

The Bulls and Scarlett Knights will tip off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, which will conflict with the UB men's basketball team, who tip off with either Arizona State or St. John's at 4 p.m. on Friday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
