The University at Buffalo women’s basketball team’s season came to and end on Sunday night as they were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament by the 2-seed Connecticut Huskies, falling by a score of 84-72.

Despite the fact that they were a 10-seed taking on one of the most storied teams in women’s college basketball, the Bulls put up quite a battle.

UConn scored the first 15 points of the game and led by as much as 25 before taking a 52-37 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Huskies kept their foot on the gas at the start of the second half and led by 22 at the end of the third quarter.

The Bulls went on quite a run in an attempt to come back in the fourth quarter. UB got within eight points in the final two minutes and out-scored the Huskies 17-11 in the final frame, but the Connecticut lead was too much for them to overcome in the time they had left.

In her final game for the Bulls, Cierra Dillard led the way with 29 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals, a great performance to cap-off a great career.

The UB women finished the 2018-19 season with a final record of 24-10.
