The Buffalo Bills are back to work after a week off for a much-needed bye week following a 14-7 win over the Tennessee Titans back on October 6.

The Bills are set to start the second part of their 2019 season at 4-1 in the standings, sitting only behind their AFC East rival New England Patriots as the top team in the AFC standings. Buffalo's only loss this season came in a 16-10 defeat at the hands of the Patriots back in Week 4 at New Era Field.

The Buffalo defense has been the main highlight of the season through five games, sitting in the top-five of a number of statistical categories, including points per-game (fourth), yards per-game (third), yards per-play (third), and time of possession per-game (fifth).

As for the offense, the Bills have done enough to get the big plays when needed, which has resulted in four wins. However, to say that the Buffalo offense has been dynamic may be an overstatement to this point.

Josh Allen has been much better in his second season in the National Football League, completing 62.6% of his passes for 1,122 yards and five touchdowns. However, his decision making continues to remain a concern as he has thrown seven interceptions, and has coughed up the football five times.

If the offense can turn things around in the second part of the year, the Bills should be able to continue their winning ways.

This week, the Bills open a three-game homestand at New Era Field with a matchup against the Miami Dolphins, who may be the worst team in the NFL. The Dolphins have started the season 0-5, and rank as one of the worst statistical teams on both sides of the football under first-year head coach Brian Flores. This past week, Miami nearly pulled off their first win of the season against the Washington Redskins, but a failed two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter ended up dooming the Dolphins in a 17-16 loss.

Last week was another historic week for "Howard Picks the Bills," as Howard Simon has the Bills going 13-3 in a season for the first time ever.

This week, Howard sticks with his 13-3 picks from Week 6 and has Buffalo going 13-3 for the season. The only difference from this week to last week is that Howard had the Bills beating the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving for the first time all year, while losing at home to the Baltimore Ravens the week after.
