For the first time since the 1996 season, the Buffalo Bills have started the first 11 games of the season with an 8-3 record.

This past week may have seen the Bills' best all-around performance of the 2019 season with a 20-3 win over the Denver Broncos at New Era Field. The Buffalo defense smothered the Broncos offense, limiting them to just three points, while the offense got contributions in both the passing game and run game to punish one of the NFL's best defensive units.

Despite making one mistake through the air with a second quarter interception, quarterback Josh Allen had another efficient day under center for the Bills, completing 15-of-25 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

Where the offense really had its punch throughout the afternoon was on the ground with veteran Frank Gore and rookie Devin Singletary. Singletary had a career day on the ground with his first-ever 100-yard rushing game, while Gore picked up 65 yards and cemented himself in third place on the NFL's all-time rushing yards list, surpassing Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders.

Overall, the Buffalo offense out-gained the Broncos 424-134 in total yards.

The Bills will look to get to 9-3 this week as the team heads to the Lone Star State for a Thanksgiving Day matchup on Thursday with the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The Bills were last 9-3 also in the 1996 season when Buffalo ended the year with a 10-6 record.

As for the Cowboys, the team currently sits atop the NFC East with a 6-5 record, but is coming off a 13-9 loss to the New England Patriots this past Sunday at a rainy Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.

After the game, owner Jerry Jones took the liberty of calling out the team, including the players and coaching staff for the team's performance against a Patriots squad that is currently 10-1.

Howard Simon has been feeling good about where the Bills are sitting in the standings before the toughest stretch of the schedule comes over the next four weeks. Last week, Howard had the Bills upping their win total to 10 games after a very impressive win over the Miami Dolphins.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Howard was in a giving mood this week and picked the Bills to go 11-5, which included a win this week against the Cowboys.
