With one week left to go in the 2019 regular season, the Buffalo Bills are looking to close out the year on a high note before the playoffs against the New York Jets at New Era Field.

With a win, the Bills would improve to 11-5 on the year, which has not been achieved since the 1999 season.

Nonetheless, Buffalo is officially locked into the fifth seed in the AFC playoff picture after the team's 24-17 loss to the New England Patriots this past Saturday in Foxboro. Now the Bills wait to see who they will face in the Wild Card round of the playoffs between the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

If the Chiefs win this week against the Los Angeles Chargers, they will clinch the third seed and play the sixth seed in the first round. That would leave the Bills heading to Houston for Wild Card weekend.

If the Chiefs lose to the Chargers and the Texans can pull off a win over the Tennessee Titans, that would give Houston the third seed and punch Buffalo's plane tickets to Kansas City.

This week could be a week of rest for many Bills players with their playoff spot already secured. Players like quarterback Josh Allen, running back Devin Singletary, center Mitch Morse, cornerback Tre'Davious White and others could be either limited on Sunday or inactive as Buffalo will not risk injuring its top players for a playoff run.

The Jets come into Sunday's matchup with a 6-9 record, which is an improvement from earlier in the season, but still a disappointment considering that some had picked New York to be a playoff contender this year.

Howard Simon went bold with his pick last week by picking the Bills to beat the Patriots, but only got his third pick wrong of the season.

This week, Howard has the Bills rebounding with them beating the Jets to finish up the year at 11-5.
