DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant has already expressed his desire to return to the Cowboys on social media, but Friday we've learned that he's also expressed that same desire to his former employer.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Bryant told Cowboys COO Stephen Jones in a text message that he wanted to return to the team in 2020.

Bryant already has the backing of at least one of his former teammates as defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence said last week that the Cowboys should "give him a shot."

Bryant sat out the entire 2019 season after his first comeback attempt was railroaded after he suffered a torn Achilles in his first practice after signing with the New Orleans Saints

The 31-year-old has been posting workout videos to his social media accounts and told 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher three weeks ago that he was ready to return to the field.

"I’m where I need to be (physically) right now. I’m more serious than ever. ... I’m 100-percent hungry for the right situation."
